Located just a few minutes off the Blue Ridge Parkway, Fairy Stone State Park is well known for its “lucky” fairy stones. But the park also offers a little more magic with their yurt rentals, which each have a private deck area that are perfect for enjoying a fresh cup of coffee and the surrounding mountain beauty in the early mornings.

Rock-N-Creek Cabin—Montebello
A great Blue Ridge Mountain lookout is the two-story, well-appointed Rock-N-Creek Cabin in Montebello. The cabin offers porches overlooking the Tye River and four ponds; the wildlife is abundant. Amenities include a stone fireplace, all the television and entertainment you desire, a fully equipped kitchen and laundry, and a chef. Yes, a chef. Chef Richard Christy has cooked for President Gerald Ford and he can certainly fix you a plate, too.

Camp Karma—Bedford
Camp Karma in Bedford is an upscale primitive campground that has introduced glamping. They provide the tent – all set up for you – with everything you need to enjoy a basic camping experience. Dishes, utensils, camp chairs, wood, ice, and cots with mattresses are all provided. That means the only things missing are you, your sleeping bag and pillow, and some hot dogs for the fire.

Chic Mountain Yurt—Floyd

This two-bed, one-bath yurt sleeps up to four people and is a short drive from Floyd, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and Virginia Tech. Set on a secluded 150-acre property filled with mountain streams and rugged trails, the yurt is fully equipped with a kitchen, TV, and Wi-Fi, allowing you to relax in nature while retaining the comforts of home. An added bonus? Pets are welcome at this cute mountain rental.

The Depot Lodge—Paint Bank
In Paint Bank, Virginia there are bison, a really cool general store, an indoor swinging bridge, and The Depot Lodge, an accommodation that is part of a larger collection. That larger collection includes a refurbished 1967 Airstream “Land Yacht” Overland Trailer and the Glamping Tent at Crump’s Camp. The Airstream will accommodate four people with bunks and a fold-down full size bed. A bath with shower and mini-tub are a highlight, as is a TV and phone service. The Glamping Tent is actually located in Waiteville, West Virginia, just a few minutes away from Paint Bank. It boasts a private bathroom, gas fireplace, satellite TV, and your choice of king or two twin beds. A dock on Potts Pond is right outside your door and a perfect place to enjoy the view.
